Platform Guide

Everything you need to know about using Polarity IQ to find and connect with family offices.

Section 1

Platform Overview

The Two Data Types
FO Entities
Family Office Organizations

This search filter allows you to identify specific family offices based on parameters such as location, description, investing sector, and more.

FO Decision Makers
Individual Contacts

This search filter allows you to identify key internal decision makers within a specific family office or key external individuals that are connected to a specific family office.

Polarity IQ is a comprehensive database of family offices. The platform enables you to search, filter, and export contact information for key decision makers for fundraising, deal sourcing, and investor relations.

Pro Tip
You can search either dataset independently, or use the "Find Decision Makers" workflow to start with FO Entities and then discover the FO Decision Makers at those organizations.
Section 3

Understanding Filters

Filter Logic Explained
ORWithin a single filter
Location
New York, London, Singapore

Matches contacts in New York OR London OR Singapore

ANDBetween different filters
Location
United States
Role
CEO, Partner

Matches CEOs or Partners who are in the United States

Filters are the heart of the search system. Understanding how they combine will help you find exactly what you're looking for.

Comma-Separated Values (OR Logic)

Within a single filter field, you can enter multiple values separated by commas. This creates an OR condition. Results will match any of the values you enter.

Multiple Filters (AND Logic)

When you use multiple filter fields together, they combine with AND logic. Results must match all active filters simultaneously.

Section 4

Contact Cards & Revealing Data

Search results are displayed as contact cards. Each card shows the contact's name (first name visible, last name blurred), job title, and FO Entity affiliation.

Blurred vs. Revealed Data

Some contact information is hidden by default. Blurred fields include: last name, email addresses, phone numbers, and LinkedIn profile URLs. To see this information, click the Reveal button (uses one token).

Email Quality Indicators

  • A+ High QualityVerified email address. Very likely to deliver successfully.
  • A Good QualityReliable email address. Likely to deliver.
  • B Standard QualityUnverified email. May need additional verification.
Section 5

The Token System

Tokens are the currency used to reveal contact information. Your token balance is always visible in the Filters panel.

How Tokens Work

  • 1 Token = 1 Contact RevealEach time you reveal a contact, one token is deducted from your balance.
  • Permanent AccessOnce revealed, contacts stay unlocked forever. No need to reveal twice.
  • Subscription AllocationTokens are included with your subscription plan. Higher tiers include more tokens.

Tips & Best Practices

Start Broad, Then Narrow

Begin with fewer filters to see the full scope of available data. Then progressively add filters to narrow down to your ideal targets.

Use FO Entities-First Approach

If you know the types of family offices you want (by geography or sector), use the FO Entities table first, then "Find Decision Makers" to discover key contacts.

Leverage Role Filters

The Role filter is powerful. Try: CEO, Founder or Managing Director, Partner

Check Email Quality

Prioritize contacts with A+ and A email quality ratings for the highest deliverability.
